The Courts of Heaven: How to Silence the Accuser and Receive a New Verdict

The short answer: Scripture describes heaven not only as a throne room but as a court. God is the Judge (Psalm 82:1), Yeshua is our Advocate (1 John 2:1), and Satan is the accuser who brings charges day and night (Revelation 12:10). You do not win in that court by shouting louder. You win by confessing sin, standing on the Word and pleading the blood of Yeshua, which cancels every charge against you (Colossians 2:14).

Heaven is a courtroom

Pastor Chris and Josh call this one of the most important episodes they have recorded, because it shows what is happening behind repentance. Many believers think breakthrough comes from yelling louder, crying harder or praying longer. Sometimes the issue is not force. It is protocol.

God Himself uses legal language: "Put Me in remembrance. Let us plead together. Declare your case, that you may be justified" (Isaiah 43:26). Daniel saw thrones set in place, the Ancient of Days seated, and "the court was seated, and the books were opened" (Daniel 7:9–10).

Who is in the court

  • The Judge: God Most High. "God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods" (Psalm 82:1). He is "God, the Judge of all" (Hebrews 12:23).

  • The Advocate: Yeshua. "If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Yeshua the Messiah, the Righteous One" (1 John 2:1).

  • The accuser: Satan, "who accuses them before our God day and night" (Revelation 12:10). The Greek word katēgor is a courtroom term for a prosecutor. The Hebrew satan itself means adversary, and in Zechariah 3:1 he stands at the right hand of Joshua the high priest to accuse him.

  • The witnesses: "so great a cloud of witnesses" (Hebrews 12:1).

  • The records: the books. "In Your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them" (Psalm 139:16).

Before you were born, heaven recorded your calling. The accuser's strategy is to build a case that delays it.

Legal ground: why some people stay bound

Why do some people fast, pray all night and attend deliverance services for years, yet the same chains return? Pastor Chris answers: they are fighting the fruit, not the root. Paul writes, "Neither give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:27). The Greek word topos means a place or a piece of ground. Sin, unforgiveness, fear and rebellion give the enemy ground to stand on.

Demons do not respond to emotion. They respond to authority. Yeshua "commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him" (Mark 1:27). But you cannot cast out what you are still partnering with. Yeshua also said, "Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him on the way" to court (Matthew 5:25). The longer we wait to deal with sin, the higher the price.

You can shout in warfare, but if you haven't dealt with the case, you're just echoing.

The evidence that wins: confession and the blood

"He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy" (Proverbs 28:13). Confession is like telling your lawyer everything so he can defend you fully. Then comes the decisive evidence: Messiah "wiped out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us... and He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross" (Colossians 2:14).

The saints overcame the accuser "because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony" (Revelation 12:11). Your testimony presents evidence that the blood has been applied.

How to enter the courts of heaven

  1. Come in reverence: "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, into His courts with praise" (Psalm 100:4).

  2. Acknowledge the Judge of all (Hebrews 12:23).

  3. Request access through Yeshua, your Advocate (1 John 2:1).

  4. Confess your sins, known and unknown. This silences the accuser (1 John 1:9).

  5. Present your case with Scripture, as Yeshua answered every temptation with "It is written" (Matthew 4:1–11).

  6. Appeal to the blood of Yeshua, the final evidence.

  7. Ask for a verdict, and be specific.

  8. Be still, listen and respond as the Ruach HaKodesh leads.

A new verdict

The enemy speaks verdicts over lives: you will always struggle, you will never be free, your family is cursed. But God is the righteous Judge who overrules every one of them. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment" (Isaiah 54:17). Repent of any agreement with the curse, declare the Word over it, ask the Judge for a new verdict, and seal it in the blood of the Lamb.

Pastor Chris closes the episode by leading a prayer of petition and with this promise: "the Ancient of Days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High" (Daniel 7:22). Our Advocate is not a dead man's memory. He is the risen High Priest who "always lives to make intercession" for us (Hebrews 7:25).
